Alaska Earth Sciences Inc. (AES) is a small, locally-owned, mineral industry service group that specializes in mineral exploration and resource evaluation in areas ranging from Tierra del Fuego and Australia to Greenland, but primarily focusing on the state of Alaska. Successfully serving our clients on a consulting and contracting basis since 1985, the company has completed a variety of projects for major and junior mining companies, Alaska Native corporations, construction and engineering firms, and state and federal agencies. The principals of the company have an aggregate of more than 60 years of professional geological experience in programs ranging in scope from grass-roots exploration to feasibility studies, and targeting a wide range of commodities and geologic environments. Services offered include project management, geologic engineering studies, and mineral property appraisals, as well as contract geochemical and geophysical surveys and logistical support for field programs. Our programs are supported by a private library of geologic data compiled over the last one hundred years and it is safe to say our private library will rival that of companies ten times our size. We have extensive computer hardware and software resources, including GIS capabilities and large-format Hewlett-Packard plotter output. Alaska Earth Sciences is dedicated to working with private- and public-sector clients in all aspects of responsible resource development in Alaska and elsewhere in the world. |

PHILOSOPHY Alaska Earth Sciences focuses on the application of geologic principles in three important areas: 1.) The discovery and evaluation of economic mineral resources: AES feels that profitable mineral deposits are found by an innovative application of sound science to a broad base of geological, geochemical, and geophysical information, combined with a practical knowledge of real-world economics, land status, state and federal governmental policies, and the interests of local communities and peoples. AES maintains one of the most extensive mineral resource databases in the state, and has a long history of dealing with a myriad of local, regional, and national entities in the state of Alaska. Integrating this base of information and experience with current scientific concepts is critical, thus AES encourages continuing education at all staff levels. Specific and realistic design of an exploration program, followed by focused problem-solving field management is the trademark of Alaska Earth Sciences. 2.) The identification and resolution of engineering problems: The company has experience in managing the geotechnical investigation of hydroelectric projects, pipelines, transmission lines, and structural foundations. The company also has a strong background in the design, operation and economics of large and small mining operations at several locations within Alaska. 3.) Professional appraisal of subsurface and mineral estate: While relying on its background in the mineral industry, AES strictly conforms to the accepted practices of professional appraisers. AES has appraised subsurface mineral estate for federal, city and native corporation clients. AES has developed a strong comparable sales database for Alaska including listings of significant mine/mineral claim transactions in the U.S. and Canada. |
